In Japan, You can wear new shoes in the morning only. Must not wear during afternoon and night. (No.2)

I wrote continuation of yesterday.

Now, I can explain why we must not wear shoes.

To wear new shoes in the afternoon, or night is bad omen.

Then, why it is bad omen?
The reasons is linked to Japanese history and habit.

One of the reasons,
At a funeral, there is a habit that dead person wear new shoes.
And a funeral hold in the evening or night.
So it is bad omen to wear new shoes in the evening or night.

Other reasons,
Once upon a time, there are many dark streets.
If you wear the new shoes, you had feet unused to shoes.
So you may be dangerous to fall down.
And, it is not uncommon to move far away at night with new shoes.
So it is bad omen.

It seems to be that there are various theories,
that I know now is these reasons.

Can you understand?
I think my English is so poor.
If you have any questions, please comments!

What should do if you have to wear new shoes in the evening?

Although it is bad omen, it is likely that you have to wear the new shoes in the evening.

Then, you deface or soil your new shoes a little, such as scorch shoe sole by lighter or match.
For other way, to write something on shoe sole by black magic.

Considered scientifically, it is a placebo.
But, I think this is a good Japanese traditional habit.

Recently I dropped at shoeshine shop, and I asked.

Landyny: "Even now, Is there a habit we must wear the new shoes in the morning?"

shop clerk: "HAHAHA. You said such out of date. Recent young people don't know that!"

Oh, I was said out of date.
Now, I am 27 years old.
